Valentine’s day at Talonpojankatu campus

In Finland, Valentine’s day is about friendship, not only soulmates. The Finnish name Ystävänpäivä means Friends’ day. Read more about this Finnish tradition here.

Centria’s students are bringing joy to the Talonpojanku campus on Valentine’s day, 14 February. Our business students are organising various kinds of events on the campus as part of their business practice class.
Ecology is the word in the pink area. A group of students are offering bananas, apples, snacks as well as tot bags to those that bring plastic bags to be recycled.  You will get a fruit in exchange for a plastic bag, and three plastic bags will get you a tote bag.

- We want to bring and spread environmental awareness to the students and staff. We will never get completely rid of plastic bags, but every one of us should have a look at how they consume plastic bags, explains Selina Sotejeff, a first-year Business student

A Valentine’s day Kahoot quiz will be organised on the red stairs, aka the Amfi: at 10:45 AM, 11:30 AM and 1:10 PM.  Winners will receive a surprise gift!

Don’t leave school without taking Valentine’s day pictures with your buddies! A picture wall will be installed in the main lobby, where you take pictures with your friends, using props and spreading the love. Remember to share your photos on social media with the hashtag #centriavalentinesday.
Punaisilla portailla eli Amfissa pelataan ystävänpäivän Kahoot-peliä klo 10:45, 11:30 ja 13:10. Voittajille on luvassa yllätyspalkintoja.

Students will also be able to buy Centria goods (hoodies, t-shirts, lunch boxes) by the Info office in the lobby from 10 AM till 2 PM.
