We offer advanced business studies for international bachelors from the business field. In addition, in case you have previous business studies at master’s level or fresh specialized work experience from the business field, we also have a possibility to integrate those skills into your MBA degree to speed up your studies. We do our best to offer high-quality education and flexible arrangements in order to guarantee good study progress.



Who is the Degree Programme designed for?

You are eligible to apply to our MBA programme if you have a higher education degree is completed in Finland or elsewhere in the EU/EEA-area. You also need to have at least two years (24 months) of work experience after completing a higher education degree. Also a good command of English required for the studies.


What Are the Objectives of the Programme? 

The programme aims to increase professional knowledge of business administration. Having completed the programme, the student has grown into a business management professional, capable of independent decision-making, working with management or demanding expert tasks in businesses that operate in international business directly or indirectly.


How are Studies Organized? 

Studies are offered online and multimodal learning methods are used. Courses are offered online, including online studies (Zoom or Teams) two or three times per month on an average, on Saturdays. And, some Friday afternoons are scheduled for group work and consultation with teachers. Additionally, independent studies on student’s own time are required. The emphasis of learning is on independent work as well as on solving distant learning assignments and development projects. The thesis as a development project is an essential part of the studies.  

During the autumn semester, the students are offered advanced professional studies in the study module Research and Development, including RDI Processes and Research Communication and Research Methods. In another study module Advanced International Studies, students deepen their knowledge in International Marketing Management and Future Trends in International Business. During the spring semester, the students are offered two study modules. The first module International Business Management covers Business Ethics and Sustainable Management, Strategic Management, Financial and Management Accounting and  Change Management. The second study module International Business Development covers Organizational Behavior and Development and Entrepreneurial Management and Leadership. Additionally, students may choose optional courses based on motivation and career needs.

Additionally, the students write their Master’s thesis on some study-specific topic during their study time. Having completed the programme, the students have grown into business management professionals, capable of independent decision-making, working with management or demanding expert tasks in businesses that operate in international business or as an independent entrepreneur in international business.

Occupational Profiles

Most of the graduates of the programme work in different specialist or management positions in the business. Under the Finnish legislation, a person who has taken a Master's degree at a university of applied sciences is qualified for posts or positions in the public sector for which the qualification requirement is a first cycle/second-cycle degree. In some cases, the qualification requirement also includes the completion of studies in specific fields of study.

Eligibility criteria

For this specific direct application round, the following education gives applicants eligibility to apply for the Master's programme:

  • a higher education degree completed in one of the universities in Finland
  • a higher education degree completed in one of the universities of applied sciences in Finland
  • a higher education degree completed in one of the EU/EEA-area countries

Furthermore, applicants are obliged to have at least two years of relevant work experience, gained after obtaining a higher education degree.

Applicants are also required to be in good command of the English language since the Master's studies are conducted in English.


Admission criteria

Students are selected on the basis of points received from the entrance examination. The entrance exam is in form of an online test. The instructions, detailed content and the schedule of the online entrance exam are going to be sent to eligible applicants by email. When filling the application form, applicants are advised to double-check if the given email address is functional. Functional email address is necessary in order to be able to contact applicants with essential guidelines.

The content of the entrance examination is based on given reading material and connected assignments. Applicants’ English language skills are going to be tested as well. A functional computer with a stable internet connection is required.

How to apply for the Master's degree programme, PART-TIME studies

The application period for Master's degree programme, International Business Management, PART-TIME studies conducted in English for applicants applying with a higher-degree qualification completed in Finland or elsewhere in the EU/EEA area was arranged between 17 March – 31 March 2021. 

The next application period is presumably going to take place during spring 2022.

The application process will take place at Studyinfo.fi when the application period starts. The application process is free of charge for all applicants. Applicants can be admitted if they meet eligibility requirements, submit a valid application, attach required documents and successfully pass the entrance exam.




Entrance exam information:

  • after all eligibilities are checked, eligible students will be informed about the next procedures via email which they submitted in their application
  • instructions for the entrance exam will be sent to eligible applicants via email on Monday 3th May 2021
  • Online exam is scheduled for Monday 10th May 2021 between 2 - 4 pm Finnish time


The online entrance exam has two parts - an oral and a written one. Both parts are based on a reading material which is sent to all applicants beforehand. In the oral part, applicants create a short video based on that material. In the written part applicants create an essay based on the reading material following given instructions. All necessary instructions, detailed content and the schedule of the online entrance exam are going to be sent to eligible applicants by email by 3th May 2021. Applicants’ English language skills are going to be evaluated as well.
