We offer advanced business studies for international bachelors from the business field. In addition, in case you have previous business studies on the master’s level or fresh specialized work experience from the business field, we also have a possibility to integrate those skills into your MBA degree to speed up your studies. We do our best to offer high-quality education and flexible arrangements in order to guarantee good study progress.


Who is the degree programme for?

You are eligible if you have a higher education degree completed outside the EU/EEA.

You also need to have at least two years of relevant work experience, gained after the bachelor’s degree.

Good command of English is required for the studies as well.


What are the admissions criteria - How to get in?

The online entrance examination will be arranged in spring 2021. More information will be published soon. Language tests are not required during the application process. IELTS/TOEFL certificates do not give any additional points. 


What are the objectives of the programme?

The programme aims to increase professional knowledge of business administration. During the autumn semester, the students are offered advanced professional studies in English and business software, research and development studies as well as future-oriented business studies. In the spring semester, the students have two study modules: International Business Management and International Business Development.

  • The module International Business Management covers the following courses: Business Ethics and Sustainable Management, Strategic Management, Financial and Management Accounting and Change Management.
  • The module International Business Development covers the following four courses out of which the students choose two: Organizational Behavior and Development, Advanced Enterprise Resource Planning ERP, Entrepreneurial Management and Leadership, Functionality of SAP ERP System. Additionally, the students write their Master’s thesis on some study-specific topic during their third semester in the autumn of 2021.
Having completed the programme, the students have grown into business management professionals, capable of independent decision-making, working with management or demanding expert tasks in businesses that operate in international business or as an independent entrepreneur in international business.


How are the studies organized?

Multimodal learning methods are used. Live lessons are offered at Kokkola Campus during the week. Furthermore, independent distance studies (on the student’s own time) are required. The learning process consists of lectures, exercises in class, independent work as well as distant learning assignments and development projects. The thesis as a development project is an essential part of the studies.

Eligibility criteria

You are eligible if you have a higher education degree (Bachelor´s diploma) completed outside of the EU/EEA countries.

You also need to have at least two years of work experience, gained after the Bachelor’s degree, and good command of English is required for the studies as well.

Admission criteria

Students are selected on the basis of points received from the entrance examination. The entrance exam is in form of an online test. The instructions, detailed content and the schedule of the online entrance exam are going to be sent to eligible applicants by email. When filling the application form, applicants are advised to double-check if the given email address is functional. Functional email address is necessary in order to be able to contact applicants with essential guidelines.

The content of the entrance examination is based on given reading material and connected assignments. Applicants’ English language skills are going to be tested as well. A functional computer with a stable internet connection is required.

How to apply for the Master's degree programme, FULL-TIME studies

The application period for Master's degree programme, International Business Management, FULL-TIME studies conducted in English for applicants applying with a higher-degree qualification completed outside the EU/EEA area was arranged between 1 February – 17 March 2021. 

The next application period is presumably going to take place during spring 2022.

The application process will take place at Studyinfo.fi when the application period starts. The application process is free of charge for all applicants. Applicants can be admitted if they meet eligibility requirements, submit a valid application, attach required documents and successfully pass the entrance exam.






Entrance exam information:

  • after all eligibilities are checked, eligible students will be informed about the next procedures via email which they submitted in their application
  • instructions for the entrance exam will be sent to eligible applicants via email on Monday 12th April 2021
  • Online exam is scheduled for Monday 19th April 2021 between 2 - 4 pm Finnish time


The online entrance exam has two parts - an oral and a written one. Both parts are based on a reading material which is sent to all applicants beforehand. In the oral part, applicants create a short video based on that material. In the written part applicants create an essay based on the reading material following given instructions. All necessary instructions, detailed content and the schedule of the online entrance exam are going to be sent to eligible applicants by email by 12th April 2021. Applicants’ English language skills are going to be evaluated as well.
