Simulated care situations

Care situations are being simulated as well

Caring industry education is using simulation environment in the studies as well. Simulated situations are being used to practice real life day-to-day and acute care situation skills. Student groups receive a patient case, where they have to take care of a simulation doll in many acute care situations. At the same time, second group is monitoring the case in another room and they’re given an observation task. Teacher is observing the situation out of view from the students.

The care situation is finally gone through: first the self-evaluation, then observing groups feedback and last the teacher. Feedback is constructive, encouraging and it supports learning. In these simulated learning situations, a student can safely learn the skills of nursing and is given better preparedness for working life care situations and collaboration. Simulation training increases patient safety as well as skills in leadership, interaction and co-operation.
