The accessibility statement

The accessibility statement for the websites www.centria.fi and tki.centria.fi

The accessibility means that websites and mobile applications and the content of them are understandable and usable for everyone. The Act on the Provision of Digital Services (306/2019) applies also to Centria University of Applied Sciences’ web services. The act is based on The Web Accessibility Directive of the European Parliament. According to the law, everybody must have equal chances of using digital services.

Centria University of Applied Sciences aims to ensure that the online services (www.centria.fi, tki.centria.fi) meet the requirements for accessibility as stated in the Act on the Provision of Digital Services (306/2019).

We are currently developing our digital services so that they serve each person visiting our website even better. Some of the non-accessible materials were published before September 23rd, 2018 which means that those materials do not have to be retroactively made to meet the accessibility requirements.

The accessibility statement was composed on June 14th, 2021.

The assessment of accessibility was conducted as a self-evaluation.

Browsers used on desktop were Google Chrome and Firefox. On mobile Safari and Google Chrome were used.

The website largely meets the accessibility requirements.

The detected deficiencies on the website include:

  • The text on the banner does not scale correctly on mobile devices.
  • In Firefox moving on the website using the tabulator does not show the progression on the website.
  • In Chrome when one chooses a submenu, the previous menu does not close.
  • Some links are not descriptive.
  • The tabulators on top of the banner are poorly visible.
  • The Follow us on social media -text moves backwards while proceeding on the site with the tabulator.
  • The tabulator is poorly marked in the Instagram part.
  • In some parts of the website the tabulator disappears, and the shortlinks-menu cannot be found using the tabulator.

Have you detected an accessibility deficiency in our digital services? Please let us know about it by giving feedback by e-mail: viestinta@centria.fi. We will do our best to rectify the deficiency.
